LEARNING THROUGH INTER-DEPENDENCY
Wise
teachers know that the purpose of teaching is from dependence to
independence through inter-dependency. It is important to be realistic as
far as teaching-learning process is concerned. Students will engage
faster and better when we take them from the simple to the complex,
known to the unknown And of course from the concrete to the abstract.
This helps motivation and inspire effective teacher-learner rapport.
Our
students are like trees in the forest vegetation when they have
attained their academic career. They may have started that journey
relying on everyone around them, especially their teachers. We often
defined education as the process of preparing the dependent child to
becoming an independent adult, for his relevance in the society.
The
above assumed definition is incomplete in its operations without the
absolute involvement of the inter-dependency of the individual students
to his success and that of others around him. No one can exist in
isolation, we are all interconnected. In the vegetation, even though the
tree is young, he's sending communication, information, and help to all
is neighbours in the ecosystem.
Life
is full of events we deal with everyday, such covid-19 interruption to
the school. Or the effect of war that cause interruption of everything
and everything. If you respect their past and assure their future with
teaching enrichment, then they will focus on their future development
leveraging on the inter-dependency of everything and everything.
Students
today are very in touch with social media, the beauty of this that we
can all easily interconnect as distinct trees from various
vegetation/forest. Although young learners love routine, college
students prefer something much different. We must unpredictable and
adaptable in order to move every student from dependence and
independence, through inter-dependency.
